The weather, or "mausam", seems to be a universally popular topic on any day. Whether it's a nice clear day, or it's raining heavy, after today's lesson, you'll be able to comment on any kind of weather.

You can find out about the weather by asking the following questions.

What’s the weather like? Mausam kis tarah kaa hai?

There are a lot of possible answers to that question. Here are the most common ones…

It’s sunny. Dhoop hai.

It’s hot. Garmee hai

It’s cold. Sardee hai.

It’s windy. Tej hawaa hai.

You can use the word “bahut” (very) for all of the above phrases to emphasize that it’s not just cold or warm, but very cold or very warm. For example:

It’s very cold. Bahut sardee hai.

It’s very warm. Bahut garmee hai.

Day 5 - Primary Hindi

It’s very windy. Bahut tej hawaa hai.

When talking about rain you can use the following expressions …

It’s raining. Baarishh ho rahee hai.

It’s drizzling. Rimzhim baarishh ho rahee hai.

It’s raining cats and dogs. Musalaa-dhaar baarishh ho rahee hai.

Here are some more common phrases that describe the weather.
