Interesting post Sami! You are right kids learn more when they are having fun and there are lots of websites that can help with fun games. There are also now ebooks for children where kids can read along AND hear the words spoken for pronunciation – either as the story is read to them or by clicking on unfamiliar words.

Nice article. Languages in India should be given importance especially Hindi.The correspondence courses can play a major role in balancing the deficit. Today sikkim manipal university(http://www.smude.edu.in) has contributed siginificantly for the growth of distance education in India.

Portugal became independent in 1139. Afonso Henriques was the first King of Portugal. However Alfonso VII, King of Castile-León only recognized the independence in 1143.
Portugal did not won its independence from Spain.
Spain exists since 1469, when kingdoms of Castile and Aragon were united by the marriage of Isabella and Ferdinand.
Portuguese is an official language in Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe, Mozambique, Equatorial Guinea, Macau and East Timor.
Number of native speakers = 210 million
